We provide home visits to moms and babies with a focus on lactation consultation, breastfeeding support, and newborn care.
Our goals are to provide information and support to enable parents to make the best decisions for themselves and their babies. Our referrals come from pediatricians, obstetricians, midwives, other healthcare providers as well as other new parents we have worked with. We enjoy a strong partner base that offers us wonderful resources to share with you.
A typical visit is 1–2 hours. The visit includes a history of mom's general health, the baby's birth, assessment of the mother's breasts, the baby's general health, oral anatomy, feeding position, latch and feeding effort. Hospital grade scales are used to assess the baby's intake during the feeding by doing weights before and after the feeding. A written plan of care will be developed with you to help move you toward your breastfeeding goals. A report is sent to the baby's doctor. Telephone or email follow up with a lactation consultant is included.
If you do not require an in home consultation but would like support, we will set up a phone consultation schedule with you.
Payment is due at the time of the visit. An insurance coded bill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company to seek reimbursement. This is not a guarantee that you will be reimbursed. Please check with your health insurance provider.
Lactation Partners has hospital grade pumps for rental. We also sell pumps, parts and other breastfeeding supplies.
We work with families in the city of Chicago from the south loop north through the many neighborhoods of the city and into the northern suburbs.
Our in-home consultation fee is $275 (twins $300) **Note: There is a $30 cancellation fee for scheduled home visits
Our practice also offers phone consultations and tele-conferencing as part of our breastfeeding support and guidance. Tele-conferences are conducted over the Zoom platform and are billed as a fee for service. Tele-conferences last 60-90 minutes, including virtual guidance through a breastfeeding session, instruction using your breast pump, and the implementation of an individualized feeding care plan. A report is sent to your physicians and follow up guidance is provided for one month via phone and email.
Our telehealth consultation fee is $175
Lactation Partners hosts an appointment-only clinic. It's a casual and comfortable place to nurse your baby. Our clinic provides you the opportunity to have reassurance with your baby’s latch, feed quality, a weight check or just an opportunity to connect with other breastfeeding mothers. This is not meant to replace an in-home lactation consultation.

Treatment includes those activities related to providing services to you, the patients, including releasing information to other health care providers involved in your care. Payment relates to all activities required to facilitate your reimbursement for services provided, including providing information requested by insurance companies so they can determine if they should pay your claim. Healthcare operations includes a number of areas, including quality assurance and improvement, evaluating provider performance, or conducting training.
*Unless you give us written authorization, we cannot use or disclose your health information for any reason except those described in this Notice.
*We must disclose your health information to you; it is your right as a patient. We may disclose your health information to a family member, friend, or other person to the extent necessary to help you with your healthcare of with reimbursement for your payment, but only if you agree that we may do so.

*We may disclose your health information to appropriate authorities if we reasonably believe that you are a possible victim of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, or other crimes.
